“I remember trotting to the back side of a pasture on a dark night

with only moonlight to show the way. I can still smell the

dust lifted by horse’s hooves as we trotted along.”

Exposed to ranching as early as six years old, the author became fascinated with the art of horseback riding and the many skills and virtues it can develop. He knew that all he wanted was to become a cowboy the moment he first sat on a saddle. While horseback riding did not provide him with material riches, it however sufficed him with a wealth beyond compare—happiness. He had gotten to ride hundreds of miles and covered thousands of acres over the years. His passion took him to mesmerizing places people cannot see from the highways. In Memoirs of a Texas Cowboy, he recollects fun and awe-inspiring memories from his first ride to his first fall, from the hard but lesson-filled times of the 50’s drought to the rewarding years of growing old as a cowboy in Texas.

In 2003, the author was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and could no longer get on a horse. “That hurt more than anything, but I still had a lifetime of memories,” says Robinson. His memories are fondly relived in this absorbing memoir.

Equipped with informative facts about ranching and peppered with humorous cowboy anecdotes, Memoirs of a Texas Cowboy will take you on an enthralling ride as it sweeps from ranches of deep canyons, brushy flats, to creeks, springs, and high mesas.
