Yes No 5.0 out of 5 stars An authentic ranch voice, March 5, 2010 For an authentic look at a working rancher in the Texas Panhandle, it's hard to beat Jim Robinson's "Memoirs of a Texas Cowboy." With humor and charm, he describes the sense of freedom that comes from living and working out on the wide-open range. He also includes some aggravating aspects of ranch life that discourage all but the most dedicated from pursuing his austere calling. With genuine cow camp lingo, the writer creates an indelible panorama that will amuse, inform and impress readers about a fading American scene. Yes No 5.0 out of 5 stars What a pleasure to read!, February 16, 2010 as the author, and growing up knowing many of the characters and stories in the book (including the author!), this was a pleasure to read. Written by a man who is truly a Texas Panhandle cowman - who's been there and done that - has finally written down these stories, all spoken in the language of every day life on the ranch! I certainly hope Jim writes more - Hat's off to you. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? Yes No |
